01Who we are

This privacy policy explains how MATRJO ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit this website or contact us. We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

02Data we collect

We collect only the data we need to answer your enquiry and run this website:

• Data you give us: your name, company, email address, product category and the details of your request when you use the contact form or write to us by email.
• Technical data: when you visit the website, the server automatically logs your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page and the date and time of access. These logs are needed to deliver the website securely.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data and ask you not to send it to us.

03How we use your data

• to answer your enquiry, prepare quotations and carry out the services you order;
• to communicate with you about an ongoing project;
• to operate, secure and improve this website;
• to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for automated decision-making.

04Legal basis (GDPR)

If the GDPR applies, we process your data to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and to perform a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website and answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)), and to comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

05Sharing your data

We share personal data only where necessary for the purposes above, for example with:

• hosting, email and IT service providers who process data on our behalf;
• manufacturers, inspection companies, testing laboratories and logistics partners, when this is needed to carry out your project. We share only the business contact details they need.
• authorities, where we are legally required to do so.

06International transfers

We work with partners in Hong Kong, mainland China and other countries. Your data may therefore be transferred to and processed outside the place where you live. Where we transfer data, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a comparable standard, for example through contractual safeguards.

07Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It may use technically necessary storage to display the site correctly. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google when the page loads. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

08How long we keep data

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting business relationship, and afterwards for as long as legal retention periods require (for example for accounting records). Server logs are deleted after a short period unless needed to investigate a security incident.

09Your rights

You may ask us for access to and correction of your personal data. If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing, and you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Hong Kong, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. To exercise your rights, write to office@matrjo.com.

10Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. This website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when our services or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
